Best Natural Remedy for Blood Clots?

by Victor
(Gulfport MS, USA)

QUESTION:

Back in 2011 I had a pulmonary embolism, a blood clot in the lung. I'm on RX blood thinner for life.

Hemoglobin deficiency... no history in our family?

What causes an iron deficiency? Is there a home/natural remedy other than diet/RX med?

ANSWER:

Hi Victor, and thanks for your question regarding a natural remedy for an iron deficiency.

Firstly, an iron deficiency comes about because there is no longer enough iron in our foods today. Sadly, it's one mineral that has been almost completely leached from our food soils (and if it's not in the soil it's not in the plants we eat).

Yes, there are definitely natural and home remedies for an iron deficiency. Wheat grass, spirulina or chlorella are all excellent, along with heme iron supplements. The problem is, however, these should not be taken or used by people on blood thinning medications as they thin the blood even more.

This is the dilemma you have. I would strongly recommend you find yourself a good naturopathic physician (one that comes highly recommended) in your local area and work in conjunction with them. They will be able to help you and point you in the right direction.

Finally, don't forget about the best iron containing food, red meat. It has the highest absorbable iron content of any food so if you aren't vegetarian, eat plenty of grass fed beef (only grass fed).

Hope this helps you Victor.

All the best,

Regards
