My lower leg swells as I go thru the day, from the knee thru the foot. My socks leave a mark on my leg where the elastic is. Standing on it makes it worse. My hands also swell and I've had difficulty getting my rings off.

Firstly, you will need to find out whether your swelling is being caused from poor blood flow or edema (fluid swelling) or both, so a proper diagnosis is important. For this we would advise visiting a reputable naturopathic physician. In the meantime though, you could start taking organic apple cider vinegar (two tablespoons mixed in a warm glass of filtered water) three times daily, along with cayenne pepper. Mix 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper in 1/2 glass of warm filtered water and scull down. Take this three times daily as well. After one week increase the amount to one full teaspoon if you can. Yes it is hot but you do get used to it (you can purchase cayenne pepper capsules if you do find the heat too much). Both apple cider vinegar and cayenne pepper are excellent for increasing blood flow and treating edema. There are no side effects associated with taking these two natural foods (only positive benefits). They are very safe!
