Apple Cider Vinegar for Urinary Tract Infections?
I have decided to try apple cider vinegar as a treatment for my uti. I have noticed that this seems to be a cure all for everything. Upon reading about many other ailments I also like the sound of bicarb soda in water as well. I like the thought of oxygenating my body.
Can I take both of these at the same time? Should I maybe have one first and the other half an hour later? Will I become too alkaline consuming both of these products?
Hi, and thank you for your question regarding apple cider vinegar and baking soda for a uti and for overall health.
Firstly, apple cider vinegar (ACV) is definitely one of the best "cure alls" there is, so taking this every day is an excellent idea. Baking soda is also excellent for increasing your pH level and oxygenating the body. Taking both ACV and baking soda together works very well, however, there are a few precautions...
If you take baking soda every day your body will become too alkaline. Personally, I take a teaspoon twice a week (Monday & Friday) just to keep my pH up. But having said that, I also take wheat grass powder every day which is also alkaline (I also test my pH level regularly as well). If you are going to use baking soda then twice a week is sufficient (unless you have a disease such as cancer, then it's a totally different scenario). ACV on the other hand can and should be taken every single day (2-3 tablespoons in a glass of water twice daily). When you have the ACV and baking soda together, you can either space them apart by 1/2 an hour or have them one after the other. Having them both at the same time can make you "gassy" so you will need to try both ways.
