Does Drinking Coffee Cure Breast Cancer?

QUESTION:

People say that scientists recommend women with breast cancer, or those threatening to have breast cancer, drink at least 3 cups of coffee a day. We know that coffee contains a high amount of caffeine and the side effects of caffeine are not good. While it may cure cancer, it affects other functions of the body.

What are your views and recommendations please?

Kaiyo Kana.

ANSWER:

Hi Kaiyo, and thank you for your question regarding coffee for breast cancer.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of drinking coffee for it's supposed health benefits. I much prefer green tea (especially Matcha green tea). Studies have shown that green tea is more effective at preventing and even treating breast cancer than coffee anyway. Green tea also contains alot less caffeine than coffee. It's the antioxidants in both green tea and coffee that are responsible for their anti-cancer benefits. But green tea has far more antioxidants and potency than coffee and actually makes you feel refreshed after drinking it. We wrote a whole article on the amazing benefits of green tea for breast cancer. You can view it here... Green Tea for Breast Cancer.

So this one probably boils down to personal choice really. Some women can't stand the taste of tea but love coffee and vice versa. For me though, I'm for green tea all the way!

Hope this helps Kaiyo.

All the best,

Regards

Troy.
